Precast Services Inc. was selected to perform the precast assembly for a 186-piece, single-level parking garage supporting the Mass Timber Office Building at Ellis Preserve in Newtown Square, PA. This precast parking structure plays a key role in providing efficient and durable parking solutions within the larger Ellis Preserve development area.
This precast parking garage features one elevated precast level and one subterranean level, making the erection process particularly complex. Given the site layout, the crane was positioned inside the footprint below grade, requiring detailed coordination to ensure that delivery trucks could safely navigate the site.
The crane erected most of the garage from inside the footprint below grade. Once the majority of the structure was in place, the crane needed to crawl out of the footprint, requiring the installation of a crane pad to safely reposition the crane.
The team then executed the final precast erection while maintaining strict safety compliance and minimizing disruption. Given the proximity of overhead power lines, the disassembly process required precise planning to manage the tight footprint and ensure a smooth and secure completion.
