“Couldn’t have asked for a better company or crew to
perform the work of installing the parking garage components. PSI worked with our management and safety team hand in hand to deliver safe and efficient work day after day.”
-Turner Construction Manager
Our team was tasked with erecting a six-level parking garage consisting of 732 precast pieces at the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey. The completion of this parking garage was a critical infrastructure addition to the facility, as it provided a much-needed parking solution in this high-traffic area.
The jobsite had several unique challenges, requiring a high degree of attention to detail, flexibility, and coordination. Located in a heavily trafficked area, the project was subject to local noise ordinances that required our crew to adjust their start times, working later in the day than usual. The garage erection, which began in June 2024, coincided with an unusually hot summer. To ensure the well-being of our employees, we implemented strict health and safety protocols, balancing the demands of the project with the importance of worker safety.
The project site itself featured significant elevation changes, which complicated the construction process. With the change in elevation, the design and installation of a specialized crane pad was needed to safely position the crane, allowing us to complete the erection of the garage in a safe and efficient manner.
Teamwork played a critical part in the overall success of this project, as we collaborated with other project partners. Attention to detail and effective communication across the construction site was key to the safety of our workers and ability to complete the project on time. The partners involved in this projected included:
